A prenatal massage with a qualified massage therapist can be a relaxing way to relieve some of your aches, pains and discomforts during your pregnancy. A prenatal massage is considered safe as long as you get the ok from your practitioner and as long as you let your massage therapist know beforehand that you are pregnant.

Prenatal Massage benefits include:

  • Reduces stress hormones
  • Relaxes and loosens muscles
  • Increases blood flow
  • Flushes out toxins
  • Lessens swelling of joints
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Relieves headaches and back pains
  • Reduces nerve pain

There are also studies that indicate regular and routine massages may lead to a decreased labor time.

During a prenatal massage there will be modifications to your massage to ensure comfortability and safety. We use an additional piece that is attached to the massage table which allows you to safely lie supine and prone during the massage. We will always be attentive to your needs and make it most comfortable for you.
